DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN BERGEN

Arrival Bergen – Flesland Airport and check  in at one of  Choise hotels in Bergen.  If you arrive early to town we recommend to stroll to explore  the lovely sights of scenic Bergen. Visit the old wharf of Bryggen—a UNESCO World Heritage site. The fish and flowermarket, museums or join “fløibanen” Funicular up the mountainside, to have a spectacular view over Bergen and the Fjords.

DAY 2: EXPERIENCE THE FJORDS BY CAR

After breakfast pick up your electrical car and heading to Norway’s adventure capital, Voss, home to the beautiful Tvindefossen waterfall. Further on to Sogndal along the Sognefjord—Norway’s longest and deepest fjord—taking in sights including the towns of Stalheim, before reaching the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and the town of Flåm. We recommend stopping in Flåm for a steep train ride between Flåm and Myrdal. Stop at Stegastein viewpoint, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Aurlandsfjord. You will then take a short ferry ride before driving towards Sogndal, where you will spend the night.

DAY 3: SCENIC FJORDS & NATIONAL PARKS

Today you drive along the Fjærlands road towards the Jostedal glacier, Europe’s largest icecap. We Stop at the Norwegian glacier museum to learn more about the geology of the region. You will drive along the magnificent Nordfjord, dazzling turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls before arriving Loen.

For those who want the ultimate panoramich view take the skylift to the top of Mr. Hoven and enjoy magnificent views of the fjords landscape and Jostedalsbreen Nationalparkt.  Stay over in Loen.

DAY 4: EXPLORE GRAND GEIRANGERFJORD TO ÅLESUND. 

Today you start your trip to  UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord.  Board the 65-minute ferry from Hellesylt to Geiranger.  You will have spectacular scenic views during the ferry ride. Along the sides of this magnificent fjord, there a number of abandoned farms.  A fairytale landscape for nature lovers like snow-covered mountain tops, waterfalls like the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil, lush green vegetation and the deep blue fjord. For panoramic views of the fjord, we recommend driving up to Flydalsjuvet.

Get ready for an exciting drive on the  EAGLE ROAD & TROLLSTIGEN.  From Geiranger you drive up the steep and winding Ørnevegen, known as “the Eagle Road”, to Eidsdal, where you will take a short ferry ride to Linge. If you enjoy twists and turns, you will be very impressed with the drive up Trollstigen, “the Troll Ladder”, which is one of the most visited attractions in Norway.   Late evening you will reach Ålesund.

 

The town is  known for the art nouveau architectural style in which most of the town was rebuilt after a fire in 1904, as documented at the Jugendstilsenteret museum. There are panoramic views of Ålesund’s architecture, the surrounding archipelago and fjords from the Mount Aksla.  You can drive up here with the car. The myriad of turrets, spires and beautiful ornamentation give the town its distinctive character, like something out of a fairytale.

DAY 6: THE ATLANTIC OCEAN ROAD

After breakfast pick up the car again and drive to Vestnes, soaking in the scenery along the way. Board a ferry for a short ride to Molde before driving to the small fishing village of Bud. This charming town is historical and was the centre of trading in the 16th and 17th centuries between Bergen and Trondheim. With the vast sea on one side and majestic mountains on the other you pass the famous Atlantic Ocean Road before arriving Kristiansund, a city built on five islands..

DAY 6: TRONDHEIM – THE CAPITAL OF THE VIKINGS

A new day on the road.  Continue north towards Trondheim, the «Capital of the Vikings» and where you find the remarkable Nidaros Cathedral.  Trondheim is Norway’s third largest city, and also one of the country’s oldest. Founded as a trading post by the Vikings in AD 997.   The  location on the Trondheimsfjord makes it a good base for fjord cruises. Like much of northern Norway, Trondheim experiences no darkness from mid-May to mid-July, and while it benefits from a mainly mild maritime climate.

Day 7:  EXPLORE THE RICH HISTORY OF RØROS

Get ready to explore Rondane National park and the Swedish border, and the small mountain town of Røros. This former mining settlement is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering a charming atmosphere with well-preserved old wooden houses and narrow streets with many artist workshops.

 

We recommend visiting Olav’s mine and to learn about the past at Røros Museum Smelthytta, which gives a window into the history of this town.

DAY 8: OLYMPIC TOWN OF LILLEHAMMER

To day you reach Lillehammer, the host of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

In Lillehammer you can visit The Norwegian Olympic Museum and the Lysgårdsbakken Olympic area, the Lillehammer Art Museum, and the Maihaugen open air museum which includes a collection of more than 200 houses from as far back as the 12th century and until today, including the Garmo stave church. After sightseeing, visit one of Lillehammer’s cosy restaurants for a meal and Lillehammer Bryggeri for a local pint of beer.

DAY 9  day 10  : WELCOME TO OSLO

When you arrive Oslo  check in one of the Choise hotels.  You can deliver the car and relax in Oslo.

One day or two days if you want.  Exploring Oslo by foot, spending the afternoon at sights including the Royal Palace, Akershus Fortress, Oslo City Hall, Oslo Opera House, and the Aker Brygge area.

If you want to leave the car in Trondheim and  explore the coastline of Norway on bord at Hurtigruten.

 

Day 7.  EXPLORING THE COASTLINE OF NORWAY

Discover tha martitim beauty of Norway on board at a Hurigruten cruise ship. The Norwegian Coastal Voyage, which will set sail along the Trondheim Fjord and past Hitra Island. The ship will weave along inlets exposing the raw beauty of wide fjord. This journey passes through some breathtaking coastal landscapes, and the final port of the day is a brief stop in Ålesund, after midnight.

 

Spend the night in a private cabin on the cruise ship.

 

Day 8 : SAIL TO HISTORIC BERGEN

During the night, will pass Torvik, Maløy, and Florø before the final destination—Bergen. You disembark in the early afternoon.    Check in at a Choise hotel in Bergen.

Take the airport bus to Bergen-Flesland  for your flight.
